Lightning interrupts area football games; 5 contests to resume today

Weather interfered with every Pilot News area football game from Elkhart down to Fulton Friday night.
Bremen’s home game with New Prairie and Culver Military Academy’s contest with Brebeuf Jesuit at Oliver Field were both called before they even started. CMA will play at noon today, and Bremen’s game will kick off at 11 a.m.
Plymouth’s game at Elkhart Memorial was delayed with 41 seconds to go in the first quarter and the Rockies trailing 7-0. The game will resume at 1 p.m. today.
Culver Community’s contest with visiting Triton was called with 7:20 remaining in the first quarter and Culver up by a 6-0 margin. The Hoosier North Athletic Conference foes will face off once more at 6 p.m. tonight.
John Glenn’s game on the road at Knox was postponed until 2 p.m. today. The Redskins are ahead 8-6.
LaVille’s game at Caston was the only game to be completed Friday night, but even that one was eventually called in the fourth. With the Lancers leading 39-0 and just nine minutes left in the game, it went in the books anyway.
