Lady Pilgrims stay perfect in NLC

PLYMOUTH — With an unbeaten conference record on the line, Plymouth’s seniors gave the rest of the Lady Pilgrims lineup a pep talk prior to their meet with Goshen Tuesday.
They must have taken it to heart because the squad played some of its best tennis of the season en route to a 3-2 victory over fellow unbeaten Northern Lakes Conference team Goshen at home at Centennial Park.
“We talked a little bit about it yesterday, about how good Goshen is. Our seniors really stepped up and got the kids ready to play,” said Plymouth head coach Brad Haeck.
“They just said we’re kind of playing to stay in the lead of the conference right now… We played probably as well as we’ve played all year tonight. It’s a really good win, but as deep and as talented as all the teams in our conference are, it’s going to be important to really stay focused every match.”
