An Illinois man was seriously injured on Lake Maxinkuckee Wednesday evening around 5 p.m. in an accident involving a ski boat.

William Walker, 18, of Bourbonnais, Ill., was tubing when he struck the propeller of a ski boat being driven by 53-year-old Andre Marcotte of Bradley, Ill. Walker was transported to the St. Joseph Medical Center in Plymouth with non life-threatening but serious injuries.

William Walker was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth with an injury described as serious but not life threatening.

Marcotte was able to flag down the Marshall County Lake Patrol boat after the incident, and was directed to the boat pier at Culver's town beach, where Culver EMS met the boat. Marcotte reportedly lost sight of Walker after a wave splashed over the bow of the boat. Attempting to turn off the boat, Marcotte instead accidentally hit the throttle, with Walker moving partially beneath the boat and sustaining cuts.
