Glenn’s Loren Vukovits honored by IBCA

WALKERTON — John Glenn’s Loren Vukovits was named one of this week’s IBCA/ Subway Players of the Week for her work in a pair of wins at the Goshen Invitational last week.
Vukovits, a 6-1 forward, averaged 20 points and 14 rebounds over two games in leading the Lady Falcons to the Goshen tourney championship. She netted 21 points with 10 rebounds and five blocked shots in a 61-49 first-round victory over DeKalb and followed with 19 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks as Glenn moved to 10-0 with a 57-52 victory over Class 2A No. 3 Tipton. For the two games, Vukovits made 14-of-20 field goals and 12-of-16 free throws.
Vukovits was joined on the list by Greensburg senior Bryant McIntosh, Bedford North Lawrence junior Jenna Allen, Carroll (Fort Wayne) junior Chandler White, Frankton senior Aaron Korn and Muncie Central sophomore Jayla Scaife as Week 7 honorees (Dec. 23-28) in the recognition program overseen by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
This is the sixth season for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week program and the second season it is presented by Subway Restaurants of Indiana, a banner sponsor of the IBCA.
Player of the Week winners are chosen each week from each of the IHSAA’s three districts. Girls winners will be chosen from now through the week following March 8. Boys winners will be chosen from now through the week following March 29.
