BPS search for new superintendent

BREMEN — The Bremen Public Schools Board of Trustees began their meeting Tuesday, April 1 with a resolution to elect a board of committee members to assist in the search for a new superintendent. The committee will discuss their search with stake holders, develop requirements and search through resumes in search of a replacement for Russ Mikel for the coming school year.
Bremen High School worked with Plymouth and Triton schools on site visits to observe Project Lead the Way Programs.
Bremen High School has met the necessary requirements to be accepted as one of just twenty Indiana schools to participate in the inaugural IHSAA and Unified Sports Track and Field Tournament Series, partnering with Special Olympics Indiana for the event this spring.
Principal Bruce Jennings also made a number of congratulatory declares at the meeting. Congratulations went out to Salvador Perez, who performed at the Purdue Elliot Hall of Music as a member of the ISSMA All-State Band on March 16; Jaclyn Lawmaster, who qualified for the International Career Development Competition in the apparel and accessories category with international DECA competition which will be held in Atlanta Ga. May 3 through May 6; Melissa Manges, counselor at Bremen High School, who was named a Kentucky Colonel during the Riley Dance Marathon last month; and the BHS Jazz Band and BHS Winter Guard for their recent successes.
