Fundraisers still allowed in parking lots

August 20, 2014

KNOX — Rumors have been floating around Knox that fundraisers, such as port-a-pit barbecues, are no longer allowed in parking lots in the City. “We’ve received some calls about it, but that is not true,” said Mayor Rick Chambers.
The rumors are supposedly based upon a recently passed City ordinance on outdoor sales, displays and storage, however the ordinance includes business operations only. The restrictions and regulations apply only to activities associated with the principal business operating on the property.
