Knox teens found safe

September 15, 2014

Kane Howard and Jordan Fletcher, two Knox boys who had been missing since Sunday, were found safely in the Toto area this morning. Starke County Sheriff's Detective Kenny Pfost said the boys were located by two Starke County officers.

Police and family members are searching for two Knox Middle School students, Kane Howard and Jordan Fletcher, both 12.
Nicole Wilcox, the mother of Kane, said the boys were last seen at her residence on 400 S. Wilcox said they were supposed to be getting dressed for church.
Kane was wearing jeans and a black Abercrombie shirt. Wilcox said Jordan was downstairs dressing and she is unsure of what he was wearing.

Closure of U.S. 421 in Starke/Pulaski County

STARKE/PULASKI COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces the closure of U.S. 421 between the west junctions of State Road 10 and State Road 14 beginning Thursday, Sept 11 through the end of the day Friday, Sept 12, weather permitting. This stretch will close again to finish the project during the day Monday, Sept 15. Crews will perform a chip seal and fog seal operation to preserve the road surface. Crews will do their best to escort local traffic through the worksite, but drivers are encouraged to find another route due to loose stone which will be present.

ISP sergeant to retire

LOWELL — Lowell-Indiana State Police Sergeant Wanda Clay is retiring from the state police after serving the citizens of Indiana for twenty-five years.
Clay was born and raised in Lake County and graduated from Horace Mann High School. She attended Calumet College of Saint Joseph and earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor Degree in Organizational Management. Clay received her Master’s Degree of Science-Business from Indiana Wesleyan. She also attended Northwestern University Police Staff and Command School and ISP Command College.

INDIANAPOLIS — As a part of America Recycles Day (ARD), the Indiana Recycling Coalition (IRC) is hosting a recycling video contest. This year's theme is "I Want to be Recycled."
