Karen Sherer-Stoltzfus, who has served as the executive director of Family Christian Development Center since October 2009, recently resigned from her position, effective early June.
Stoltzfus will be moving to Lima, Peru, in July to serve as co-director of Goshen College’s Study-Service Term in that country. She and her husband, Duane, chair of the communication department at Goshen College, will live in Peru for one year.
During the year they will coordinate the academic studies and service assignments of three groups of Goshen College students. Most of the students will study Spanish as part of their immersion, but the fall group will include American Sign Language majors as well.
“I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to serve FCDC during these past four years. It has been a privilege to get to know this community and to experience the tremendous support of the local churches, businesses, schools - and so many individuals - who have a heart for FCDC’s mission,” Stoltzfus said.
