PLYMOUTH — The Lady Pilgrims used the offensive glass to good effect in the first half of their opener with Peru Thursday.
In the second half, they didn’t need to.
Plymouth pulled down 10 offensive rebounds for 11 second chance points in the first half to build a 38-10 halftime cushion, then worked the ball for a 70 percent floor conversion rate in the second half on the way to a 68-24 rout of visiting Peru in the two teams’ opener at the Rock.
“I didn’t realize our shooting percentage was that high in the second half. The ball movement was very good,” said Plymouth head girls basketball coach Dave Duncan.
The Pilgrims took the suspense out of their opener early.
