SOUTH BEND — Ellen Marie Ransbottom, 76, passed away at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Sanctuary at St. Paul’s, South Bend. Ellen was born on Dec. 19, 1937 in LaPorte to the late Charles and Myrtle Marie (Heath) Cavinder. After the early demise of her father, her mother married Donald D. Henning who was her father figure. She lived most of her life in our local area.

Max was born on May 7, 1965, in Santa Rosa, Texas, to Marcelino G. and Maria I. (Longoria) Mata. Max and Crystal Bollenbacher, were married on April 7, 2012, in Plymouth. Max was a machine operator for Bourbon Plastics. He was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church, in Plymouth.

CULVER — John Kowatch, 85, of Culver passed away on April 4, 2014 at 11:27 p.m., at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
John was born on Oct. 5, 1928 in rural Marshall County. He was one of five children born to the late John (Vada) Kowatch. John fell in love and married Diane Hellstrom. He was a Culver High School graduate, and worked at Young Door in Plymouth for many years. In Culver it was very normal to see John riding around town on his bicycle, usually twice a day. He also did string art.
