MARSHALL COUNTY— A watch level travel advisory remains in place as the National Weather Service provides the following update to the winter storm warning.

SNOW WILL CONTINUE AND BE HEAVY AT TIMES THIS MORNING. SOME
ISOLATED THUNDERSNOW IS ALSO POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHERN INDIANA AND
NORTHWEST OHIO. EXTREME SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR
ARE EXPECTED. STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL THROUGH LATE THIS AFTERNOON
WILL RANGE FROM 6 TO LOCALLY AS MUCH AS 10 INCHES ACROSS MUCH OF
NORTHERN INDIANA...FAR SOUTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN AND NORTHWESTERN

Schools change status from delay to closed

MARSHALL COUNTY— Plymouth and Triton Schools changed their status from a two-hour delay to closed just after 7 a.m. Wednesday. Following suite are Argos, Culver and John Glenn.

Also confirmed closed today is Oregon Davis and Knox Schools.

Ancilla College on two-hour delay

DONALDSON — Ancilla College has announced it will operate on a two-hour delay this morning. The college will not open until 10 a.m.

Watch level travel advisory implemented

MARSHALL COUNTY — A "Watch" level travel advisory has been implemented in Marshall County.

Road conditions are hazardous and only necessary travel is recommended.

The area remains under a winter storm warning until this afternoon.

School delays for Wednesday

MARSHALL COUNTY — Plymouth Community Schools has announced a two-hour delay for Wednesday, March 12. Triton Schools is also on a two hour delay.

Also announcing delays are:
Argos
Bremen
Culver
John Glenn
Union North (LaVille)

Closing for today is Knox Schools.

Winter storm watch in effect

March 11, 2014

MARSHALL COUNTY — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Marshall County beginning at midnight and expected to remain in effect until Wednesday afternoon.

Forecasters are predicting moderate to heavy snow as part of a system that will bring rain, sleet and snow in addition to 15-30 miles per hour winds. Snow accumulations are expected to range between 5- 9 inches north of US. Highway 6 with lesser amounts to the south.

Wind gusts are likely to cause some blowing and drifting conditions.

INDOT to close US 31 periodically in South Bend tomorrow

March 11, 2014

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces periodic 15 minute complete closures of U.S. 31, between Kern Road and Jackson Road in South Bend, Wednesday, March 12 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

AEP crews will be relocating power lines across the roadway during these brief closures. The work is necessary to advance INDOT’s new U.S. 31 project.

Empty building gets another chance

March 11, 2014

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Board of Works and Safety held their regular meeting Monday evening. During the meeting the board decided to give a vacant building slighted for demolition a second chance due to ownership changes. A house was also spared due to passing inspections.
