Fog forces two-hour delay for schools

MARSHALL COUNTY — As of 6:18 a.m. Friday, at least two local school systems announced a two-hour delay due to areas of dense fog.

Brmen Police Chief: No home invasion in Bremen

BREMEN — THIS CORRECTS INFORMATION REPORTED IN THE PILOT NEWS YESTERDAY BASED ON DISPATCH INFORMATION.

Police Chief Matt Hassel told the Bremen Enquirer that the call to the 4000 block of East County Line Road at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday was determined to not have been a homeinvasion.

"A lit candle caught the sofa on fire," Hassel said in an email late yesterday.

Wednesday morning, police and fire were dispatched to the home in what was believedto be a "home invasion", based on scanner reports. Hassel said the fire department was able to ventilate the home without incident.

At about 3:30 a.m. police and fire were dispatched to a Bremen address for what was described by county dispatchers as a home invasion. No official report is available at this time.

Plymouth, Triton music programs earn national recognition

MARSHALL COUNTY — Both Plymouth and Triton Community Schools earned recognition among the elite from the National Association of Music Merchants. The Marshall County Schools were two of five Indiana public school music programs and among only 96 programs recognized nationwide.

bids opened for Metronet project

PLYMOUTH — Five bids received by the City of Plymouth and seven bids received for the county portion of the Metronet, a fiber-optic network linking the county to St. Joseph County, were opened Monday.

Seed to Salad garden underway

PLYMOUTH — Teams of volunteers, students and parents came together this weekend to begin building planting beds for the "seed to Salad" project, organized by Earthworks at Washington Discovery Academy.
