Warm Up Marshall County in full swing

October 14, 2013

PLYMOUTH - With cold weather on the way a tradition of giving will also get into high gear.

Kicking off its 15th year, Warm Up Marshall County has begun collecting coats to distribute to those in need around the county. Steve Keiser began the effort all those years ago and has continued to help people stay warm in the long Indiana winters.

WUMC is asking residents to once again go through their closets and collect any gently used coats that can be given to those who may not have them. Coats for infants, children, men and women are all being collected. Ziker’s Cleaners will make the necessary repairs to any zippers, buttons or small tears and clean them for distribution.

Collection sites this year will be at the WTCA Radio Station at 112 West Washington Street and Oliver Ford Lincoln on East Jefferson Street from now until Saturday, Nov. 16th.

Coat distribution will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23rd from 10 a.m. till noon and Sunday, Nov. 24th from noon till 2 p.m. Distribution will be at the National Guard Armory at on Madison Street in Plymouth.

To select a coat there are no requirements for proof of need, but because of the demand, there will be a limit on the number of coats to one coat per person present the days of distribution. If you have several children in need please have them in attendance to insure having the right size.
