BOURBON — Virgil D. Enders, 93, formerly a resident of Bourbon, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Virgil was born Jan. 20, 1920 at Wyatt to Samuel and Bertha Schweisberger Enders. He married Dorothy Vollmer on Dec. 23, 1944 at Bremen, in the Lutheran Parsonage with Rev. E.G. Dobelstein officiating, she survives.
Retiring from the work force in 1981 as a Finishing Machine operator at Bremen Bearings (Universal Bearings), he continued farming. He enjoyed farming and caring for animals. He attended Madison Township School and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Bremen.
Virgil is survived by his wife of more than 68 years along with their daughter; Linda and husband Tom Heisler of Bourbon, their two sons; Loren and wife Debbie Enders of Brownsburg and Gary and wife Cheryl Enders of Logansport. He was further blessed with his nine grandchildren; Troy (Brenda) Heisler, Kim (Jeff) Wanemacher, Jerrod (Lovisa) Enders, Angela (Chris) Deatline, Jason (Sarah) Enders, Kevin Enders, Lindsay (Preston) Triplett, Brian Enders and Daniel Enders along with 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death were his parents, two sisters; Martha Ogle and Mabel Hesch.
You are invited Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 to share memories with the family from 4 - 8 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
A celebration of Virgil’s life will be Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St., Bremen with Rev. Roger Rohde and Rev. Neil Wonnacott officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the church.
Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery at Bremen.
The family requests memorial contributions are made to: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St., Bremen, or Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 E. Day Road, Mishawaka in his memory.
