U.S. 35 overpass to close for 4 months

June 20, 2013

KNOX — The Indiana Department of Transportation just announced that the overpass on U.S. 35 just south of U.S. 30 will be closed from June 20 to Nov. 1. According to Starke County Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler, the closing came sooner and will be longer than originally expected. INDOT recently awarded the contract for bridge replacement over the CXS railroad, Old U.S. 30 and Yellow Stone Trail.
Traffic will be detoured from U.S. 35 just north of Knox, west on Ind. 8, then on Ind. 39 to U.S. 30. Local traffic may detour around the construction by going east from U.S. 35 on C.R. 500 N, then north on C.R. 300 E. to U.S. 30.
