Triton takes regional championship

UNION MILLS — Mallorie Jennings hopes every outing could go as well as Tuesday, as she threw a shutout to carry Triton to a 4-0 victory over South Central in seven
innings for Triton’s first-ever regional championship.
Jennings kept South Central off the scoreboard for all seven innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while
striking out six.
She also racked up two RBIs on two hits for Triton. She singled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Madi Walter ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out eight, and allowed
four runs.
The lead stayed with Triton after the fifth, when it scored one run on a sacrifice fly by Hannah Jennings.
