BREMEN — Tri Kappa members recently dedicated its newly engraved rock placed on the east side of the playground at Jane’s Park. The rock designates the area maintained by the Bremen Epsilon Pi Chapter, which was established in 1960.
The Chapter keeps the park section weed-free, mulched and attractively landscaped as one of its projects benefiting the Bremen community.
Members at the June 27 dedication included Kim Bilinski, Maria Mikel, Ada Sahlhoff, Mary Grebe, Pam Katterheinrich, Lisa Soto-Kile, Debbie O’Keefe, Debi Sahlhoff, Amy Filchak, Janet Thompson, Becky Mumm, Lori Becker, Sharon Bohannon, Marilyn McCray, Kay Gramm and Susan Weldy.
The chapter also recently installed its officers for 2013-2015.
The president will be Mary Grebe. The vice president will be Sharon Bohannon.
Connie Wilson will be treasurer and Debbie O’Keefe will be corresponding secretary.
The chapter also welcomed two new members into their organization: Maria Mikel and Courtney Cherrone.
“Our Bremen Tri Kappa Chapter is fortunate to have many gracious and generous women involved in its charitable endeavors,” Grebe said.
“We welcome inactive members back to the Indiana sorority. We also  invite women of Bremen to consider joining us to help serve our community and state and have a great time in doing so.”
The Bremen Chapter of Tri Kappa women’s service organization also recently donated $500 to the Bremen Women’s Care Center.
Young women facing an unexpected pregnancy can be overwhelmed as they face this most difficult and challenging time of their life.
As they seek to make decisions, the Women’s Care Center counselors listen and help weigh the benefits and risks of each option.
Their services also include a 24-hour hotline, parenting classes, pregnancy testing and ultrasounds.
Tri Kappa’s donation will help the center to provide cribs, car seats, baby clothing and diapers through an incentive system that rewards participation in parenting classes, prenatal care and other programs.
The Bremen Chapter of Tri Kappa has been active in the Bremen community since 1960 and promotes charity, culture and education.
