Sandra Sue Keener

WARSAW â€”Â Sandra Sue Keener passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. Sandy was born Jan. 14, 1941 in Warsaw to Dale and Juanita Warner. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, and a caring nurse. Sandyâ€™s biggest fear was not being able to provide for her two boys. She worked three jobs, went to school and received her nursing degree from Purdue University while caring for her sons Kim and Kerry â€śPeteâ€ť. Sandy received the love and admiration of every person she met. Her giving spirit transcended her daily life. Sandy worked as a nurse for more than 50 years at Plymouth General Hospital, Elkhart General Hospital, the Ask-a-Nurse program and many other locations even after retirement. Even in death Sandy helped others by being an organ donor.
Sandy will be missed by her two sons Kim (Pat) Keener, Kerry â€śPeteâ€ť (Terri) Keener, sisters Darlene & (Larry) Speigle, Wendy & (John) Kimpel, Marsha & (Steve) Schmitz, daughter-in-law Sue Keener, grandchildren Aryn, Michael, Rachel, Sam, Maggie, great-granddaughter Dixie, and many nieces and nephews. Sandy had many loving friends. A celebration of life event will be held Oct. 19, 2013 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Aloha, 937 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with arrangements.
