Rockies football game will be played at Memorial tonight

September 21, 2013

ELKHART — The Plymouth football game vs Elkhart Memorial at 7:30 tonight will take place at Memorial, the PHS Athletic Department reported Friday.
The Northern Lakes Conference football game between the Rockies and the Chargers was originally moved back a day after a transformer at Elkhart Memorial was struck by lightning, leaving the school’s outdoor sports facilities without lights.
As of press deadline Friday morning, school officials were still uncertain as to whether tonight’s rescheduled game was to be played at Charger Field or at Elkhart Central’s Rice Field.
The Memorial administrative team is confident repairs to the blown transformer are proceeding on time to host Plymouth by 7:30 p.m. As a result of the game change, Plymouth’s JV team will host their Memorial counterparts on Monday at 6 p.m.
