Riffle, Chupp tops in THS class of ‘13
BOURBON — Daniel Riffle III has been named the valedictorian for the class of 2013 at Triton Jr.-Sr. High School, with Adrian Chupp earning the honor of salutatorian.
Riffle achieved the All-A Honor Roll each grading period throughout high school. This year he was presented an academic gold medallion and an engraved watch at the academic awards banquet for reaching the highest level of academic points at Triton. The math department selected him as one of two top students for his four years of achievement.
President of the senior class, National Honor Society (NHS), and Student Council, Riffle has developed his leadership skills through Hoosier Boys State and Kosciusko County’s Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA). He has been active in Science Club, Spanish Club, and Spirit Club. He was selected this year for the Academic All-State Teams in both football and wrestling as well as being recognized by the Indianapolis Star as a regional honoree in its annual state-wide Academic All-Star competition.
Son of Daniel and Sonya Riffle of Etna Green, he will be attending Purdue University where he plans to study engineering.
A three-year member of Destination Imagination (a creative problem solving team competition) as well as the Triton Tech Team, Chupp currently serves as historian for NHS. He has participated in Science Club, Spanish Club, and Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS). He was selected to attend the Lugar Symposium for Tomorrow’s Leaders.
An All-A Honor Roll certificate recipient for earning all A’s for all grading periods of this school year, Chupp was also presented a gold medallion at the awards banquet for his total accumulation of academic points. He was selected by the math department as one of two top students in four years of math achievement.
Son of Alvin and Heather Chupp of Nappanee, he plans to attend Purdue University and major in engineering. He is an active member of the Nappanee First Brethren Church.
