Plymouth edges Logan
Plymouth’s baseball team claimed a 10-9 victory over Logansport at home at Bill Nixon Field Thursday night.
The Pilgrims fell behind early but plated four runs in the bottom of the sixth, then held off Logan in the seventh for the win.
David Bacon got the win on the mound, and Cam Eveland earned the save.
Spencer MaeCroft and Jeremy Splix doubled as Plymouth racked up 16 hits in the win.

Girls tennis
Plymouth tops NorthWood
Plymouth’s girls tennis team moved to 2-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference with a 3-2 victory over visiting NorthWood Thursday night in Centennial Park.
Kirstin Riise and Jessica Stillson won at 2 and 3 singles, respectively, while Libbie Porrtteus and Lanae Singleton combined for a 6-4, 6-1 win at 2 doubles.
In the closest score of the evening, NorthWood’s Kennedy Walter and Tori Schwartz narrowly edged out Plymouth’s Savannah Mae and Ellen Smith 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 at 2 doubles.
Plymouth moves to 4-3 overall with the victory. NorthWood slides to 3-3 with an 0-3 conference start.

Softball
Triton hangs on against Manchester, 3-2
Brycelyn Garbison’s 10 strikeouts helped Triton to the victory as the Lady Trojans beat Manchester 3-2 in a softball game Thursday night.
Manchester was unable to fight back from the big hole it dug itself into against Triton after falling behind by two runs in the first inning.
Garbison allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over seven innings.
Marret Metzger took the loss for Manchester. She lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
Triton stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring two runs on a groundout by Megan Berger and an RBI single by Allyson Brown.
The Trojans quickly matched Manchester’s strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the sixth. Triton scored on an RBI single by Berger.

NorthWood’s softball team handed Argos a 15-2 defeat in five innings at home in Nappanee Thursday.

Boys golf
Lions fall to St. Joe
Bremen’s boys golf team lost out by a narrow four strokes to visiting South Bend St. Joseph in a dual meet at Sprig O’Mint Thursday.
Kevin Woodyard led the field with a 37 for the Lions. Clayton Phillips followed with a 43, and Kerry Herman and Spencer Hille shot 47 and 48, respectively, for Bremen. Cam Lindsey’s 52 accounted for Bremen’s fifth score.
St. Joe was led by Tate Heintzelman’s 41.
Bremen slips to 3-5 with the loss.
