Bremen suffers setback
Bremen suffered an 8-3 setback in softball action versus Mishawaka Wednesday in Bremen.
Chelsea Huppert took the loss inside the circle, giving up eight runs off 13 hits lasting four innings for the Lady Lions.
Emily Molden tripled and homered on her way to three hits for Bremen in the loss.

NorthWood tops LaVille
NorthWood’s softball team handed LaVille a six-inning defeat, 10-0 in Nappanee Wednesday night.
Allie Mattingly tripled and Courtney McGuire doubled for the Lady Panthers. Taylor Troxel got the win inside the circle.
Autumn Slough doubled for LaVille, and Hannah Herbster took the pitching loss.
NorthWood moves to 1-1 with the win, while LaVille slides to 1-4.

Bremen’s girls tennis team shut out John Glenn 5-0 in a Northern State Conference meet Wednesday in Bremen.
The Lady Lions lost just four total games in the season-opening win.

Plymouth falls to Valpo
Plymouth lost a 5-0 girls tennis meet with visiting Valparaiso in Centennial Park Wednesday.
Erin Hunter extended Rachel Crookston to 12 games in the second set at 1 singles before falling 6-2, 7-5. Libbie Portteus and Kirstin Riise lost a 7-2 tiebreaker in the first set en route to a competitive 7-6(7-2), 6-3 loss at 2 doubles.
Plymouth falls to a 1-2 start with the loss.

Triton’s girls tennis team blanked host Tippecanoe Valley 5-0 in Akron Wednesday.
Cassie Irons and Michal Scherer-Berry trumped Brittany Riffle and Morgan Conliff 7-5 in the second set to clinch a 6-1, 7-5 win at 2 doubles and seal the shutout. Carrie Slabaugh and Holly Stogsdill beat Kelsey Ball and Kathy Eagleson 6-2, 6-4 at 1 doubles in Triton’s first win of the season.

Boys golf
Triton tops NSC 3-way
Triton’s boys golf team beat out LaVille by six strokes at its home course, while LaVille beat Bremen by seven strokes in a three-way boys golf meet at Rozella Ford Wednesday.
Zach Gurtner was low medalist at the meet with a 38 to lead LaVille.
Triton’s Tanner Shepherd shot 40 to lead the Trojans, while Bremen’s Kevin Woodyard and Triton’s Lucas Shafer and Greg Music all carded 42 at the NSC meet.
