Softball
Jennings Ks 13 in shutout of Knox
Mallorie Jennings fanned 13 in a complete-game shutout to lift the Triton softball team to an 11-0 Northern State Conference-opening win at Knox Monday.
Jennings gave up just two hits over seven shutout innings.
Meanwhile, the Trojans easily handled Knox’s pitching as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 10 RBIs and eight runs scored.
The offense exploded for the Trojans in the sixth as they scored six runs.
Halie Zimmerman racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Trojans. She doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.
The Trojans brought home two runs in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the fifth, Trojans scored on an RBI double by Krystal Sellers, plating Janae Kreft.
Sellers and Lillie Berger each finished with a double and three RBIs, while Brycelyn Garbison doubled twice and drove in two runs, and Halie Zimmerman doubled with two RBIs in the win.

Bremen shells Glenn
Bremen batters piled on 16 hits for 15 runs, and the Lady Lions won their Northern State Conference-opener at John Glenn in five innings Monday, 15-3.
Chelsea Huppert and Brooke Baker each went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI for Bremen. Huppert allowed just three earned runs off four hits while striking out seven with a walk in the win inside the circle as the Lions moved to 3-1 and 1-0 in the conference.
Macy Jankowski took the pitching loss for Glenn lasting four innings before being replaced by Holly Adams in the fifth. The Falcons fall to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in NSC play.

CGA falls in 5
Culver Girls Academy surrendered seven runs in the first inning and dropped and 13-3 contest with Adams Monday.
Abby Jeffirs took the loss in the circle for the Lady Eagles, who put up five hits compared to 14 by Adams batters in the loss.

Kay shuts out Cavs
Braydon Kay pitched a complete-game shutout to earn Jimtown its first win, as Culver Community lost a 7-0 Northern State Conference opener at home Monday.
Culver put up just two hits in the loss, including a double by Nick Pritz.
Culver slips to 1-5 overall with an 0-1 NSC start. Jimtown improves to 1-3 and 1-0 in the NSC.

Boys golf
Rapp leads Triton in 3-way
Ryan Rapp shot a 1-over 37, and Triton’s boys golf team claimed a win over both John Glenn and Mishawaka Monday at Eberhart.
Quentyn Carpenter carded 41, and Tanner Shepherd and Lucas Shafer both shot 43 for Triton, which topped Northern State Conference-foe Glenn 164-180.
Glenn was led by dual 42s from Tyler Prentkowski and Michael Schmeltz. Ben Weiss shot 45, and C.J. Jaske turned in a 51 for the Falcons.
