Trojans start fast vs OD
Triton players recorded 20 steals for 42 points off turnovers in a 74-30 rout of visiting Oregon-Davis on opening night at the Trojan Trench Wednesday.
The Trojans knocked down 12 of 21 3-pointers and had seven different players hit shots from beyond the arc in the win.
Tanner Shepherd led all players with 20 points followed by Jordan Anderson’s 11 for Triton. Joey Corder recorded 10 points. Shepherd also finished with a game-high eight rebounds, four steals and three assists. Anderson dished out four assists, and Corder led the Trojans with six helpers as Triton opened at 1-0.
OD was led by Blake Hurford’s 11 points with two assists. Zach Johnston recorded eight points, and Carl Schnekenburger finished with six points and five rebounds in the loss.
Triton hosts Plymouth next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET while OD plays at LaCrosse Tuesday at 7 p.m. CT.

Argos beats Bremen in opener
Bremen shot less than 20 percent for the first 30 minutes of the game, and Argos built its early lead to 14 with 4:49 to play in the fourth. Bremen rallied back to cut the Dragons’ lead to two in the final minute but couldn’t pull off the win in a 49-46 loss to Argos at home Wednesday.
Bremen was led by Matt Box’s 11 and Joey Atkins 10.
Argos stats were not available for the game.
Bremen hosts Plymouth Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Argos hosts Tippy Valley next Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.

Men’s college basketball
Ancilla loses to Andrews
For the second time this season, the Cardinals of Andrews University defeated the Ancilla Chargers by a score of 72-59, in a men’s basketball nonconference game.
Leading the Charger offense with 19 points was Juwan Johnson, and Andrenos Powell added 16 of his own. Rosey Green distributed the ball to his teammates and led the team with five assists. Powell was tops in the rebound category for Ancilla with eight, while Jakyah Qaiyim had six.
The Chargers dug an 18-point hole in the first half and couldn’t dig their way out despite a competitive second half.
Ancilla will resume home action on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. against the University of Saint Francis JV.
