Bremen breezes through LaVille
Bremen advanced through Northern State Conference foe LaVille with a three-set win at the Central Noble Sectional Thursday night, 25-17, 25-11, 25-12.
The Lions advance to play Westview Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by a semifinal between Central Noble and Fremont. Championship is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Cassie Sears finished with a prolific 17 kills to lead the Bremen attack, while Chelsea Huppert tallied 13 kills in the win. Sabrina Gilley set 35 assists with 10 digs, Rachael Czarnecki finished with nine digs and three aces, and Brooke Fitch led the team in passing with 18 digs. Shelby Zellmer recorded three blocks and Nicole Hueni served two aces in the win, which pushes the Lions out to a 22-12 record.

CGA falls in three
South Bend St. Joseph ended Culver Girls Academy’s season with a 25-7, 25-7, 25-14 victory over the Lady Eagles at the Class 3A Rochester Sectional Thursday night.
Katy Bjornson led CGA in three statistical categories with five kills, eight digs and a block. Rachel Simon finished with eight assists and seven digs, while Olivia Sever tallied three kills and four digs.
Katie Kapcheck set three assists and Kayla Trefren recorded a block in the loss as the Eagles closed at 10-19.

Triton, Culver fall; Bobcats advance at OD Tournament
Triton dropped a three-set decision to South Central (Union Mills) at the Class A OD Sectional Thursday night, while the host Bobcats advanced to the championship against the Satellites with a four-game, 25-14, 18-25, 25-21, 25-17 victory over Culver Community in the late semifinal at the tournament Thursday.

The championship match is slated for 2 p.m. CT Saturday.
