Property owner wants compensation for damage to land

August 15, 2014

LAPAZ — A property owner whose land was dug up so the town of Lapaz could install a storm water drain is asking for additional compensation.

Louis Albert received $5,000 for the use of his property, but claims that the regrading that was necessary to install the drain made portions of his land unusable. He is asking for $15,000.

A meeting is planned between town officials, the property owner and his attorney.
