Pilgrims keep rolling at Concord

April 24, 2014

ELKHART — A win is a win is a win and it doesn’t matter how it came, Plymouth’s Pilgrims will take it as they start the NLC season with a second big road win, last night over Concord by a 7-1 final.
For four innings Concord starter Brendon Curry was tossing a perfect game but in the fifth the wheels came off — as they say — as Plymouth was able to put up six runs on just one hit.
“Those first four I was thinking we might be waiting on the JV to finish; again, the game was just flying by,” said Plymouth head coach Ryan Wolfe. “I told them at the top of the fifth ‘guys stop pressing, things will come’. We were able to take advantage of some mistakes they made. That’s what baseball is about. We’ve been on the other end of that too.”
