Pike, Yeo named to Top 100 Senior List

March 19, 2013

INDIANAPOLIS — Two area players were singled out by Hoosier Basketball Magazine as the magazine released its annual Top 100 Senior Boys list Monday.
Bremen’s Ethan Pike and Triton’s Clay Yeo were both named to this year’s list. The Top 100 will be pared down to 60 players at the conclusion of this weekend’s state finals, and those that make the final list will be invited to participate in the Top 60 Workout Sunday, April 7 at Marian University in Indianapolis. Among those who who will be in attendance at the workout is the Game Director of the 2013 Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Game.
Pike, a 6’4” player for the Lions, recently signed on with NAIA Judson University following a 510-point senior season, in which he finished just 18 points behind the program’s single-season scoring record of 528 set by Bill Hunter in 1973-74.
Pike led Bremen with 24.28 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in his final year, helping the Lions achieve their first double-digit win total since 2008-09. He closed his high school career with a 71-59 loss to two-time defending Sectional 35-champion Westview in a Class 2A tournament opener Feb. 26., ending with 978 points over three seasons.
Yeo, a 6’6” NCAA DI Valparaiso recruit, will finish out his high school career at this weekend’s Class A State Finals at the Banker’s Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, where Triton will play Borden in the Trojans’ fourth trip to state in the past six seasons. Game time is set for 10:30 a.m. ET.
Yeo is currently leading Triton in nearly every statistical category with 26.3 points per game, 7.96 rebounds per game and three assists an outing to go with 46 blocked shots and 44 steals in 24 games played this year.
With 631 points so far this season, he owns a career total of 1,966 points, putting him on pace to break the Marshall County scoring record of 1,979 set by 2005 Plymouth grad and Huntington University standout Kyle Benge.
Yeo is already Triton’s all-time leading scorer with single game and single season scoring records.
