Mayor asks residents to conserve water

July 19, 2012

Knox City Mayor, Rick Chambers is requesting the residents of Knox to conserve as much water as possible.
Maybe water those flowers every other night or pass up that car wash this weekend.
The average daily water use for the City is about 350,000 gal. For the past several weeks, the city has had to pump about 550,000 gallons of water per day.
The aquifer that the three deep pumps draw water from is about two feet lower than average.
For now, please conserve. If much needed rain doesn't arrive within the next couple of weeks, the City may have to restrict water usage.
