CULVER — Mary Harris, 76, of Culver passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
Mary was born on May 18, 1938 to the late William and Annie (Stewart) McCaw. On Dec. 10, 1968 Mary married Robert Harris, who survives.
Mary was a great lover of animals domestic and wild, all of which frequently came to her for treats. She served as Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader in the Culver community, and is well remembered for her many years of service at the Culver Public Library. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and especially her grandchildren on Lake Maxinkuckee.
Mary is survived by brother Bill (Gretchen) McCaw of Naples, Fla. and sister Margaret Kaczmarek of Ft. Myers, Fla. She is also survived by daughter Anne (Jack) Johnston of Culver and son Brian of Culver; stepdaughters Laura (François) Lincoln of Gibsons, British Columbia and Karen of Culver; stepson Robert of Wilton Center, Ill.; grandchildren Selene and Eric Lincoln, Vicky and Annie Fillow, and Nora and Owen Johnston. She was preceded in death by stepdaughter Katherine.
Friends may join Mary’s family in celebrating her life at Wesley United Methodist Church on Friday, July 18, 2014. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. with a memorial service and burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Humane Society and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Condolences may be sent via the obituary page at www.odomfuneralhome.com.
The Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is assisting the family with arrangements.
