Malva Irene Fear, 68, of Argos, passed away on Dec. 8, 2013, at 6:15 a.m., at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on Jan. 20, 1945 in Newberry, Mich., to Cecil B. Butler and Irene M. (Kirkpatrick) Butler
She lived most of her adult life in Marshall County, Indiana; and lived in the Argos community since 1971.
She was married to John H. Fear Sr. on Nov. 7, 1981 in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2012.
Malva Worked at K-mart in Plymouth, Ind. for 10 years and she was the head cook at Washington Elementary School in Plymouth for 15 years.
Malva was a member of the Argos Breakfast Club at Grandma’s Kitchen, Argos; She was a graduate of Gladstone High School, Gladstone, Mich. with the class of 1962. She enjoyed working on crafts, puzzle books and word searches. She liked to sew and work on needle point, and curl up with a good romance novel. She loved to go camping at Brown County and Turkey Run and attending Indian Rendezvous with the love of her life on their travels. She and John were avid coin collectors.
Melva was survived by sons: Michael Fear and wife Annie of Tippecanoe; David Fear of New Bremen, Ohio; daughters; Karen Olszewski and husband Michael of Plymouth; Beth Garnier and husband Glen of Arizona; Gina Williams of Argos; and Nita Morgan of Lafayette, 32 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren; brothers; Frank Butler and wife Phyllis of Koontz Lake, and Ben Butler of Flagstaff, Arizona
She was Preceded in Death by: parents, husband, Son – John Fear Jr., daughter – Lisa Smith, and brothers Calvin Butler and Bruce Butler.
Friends may visit with the family Fri. Dec. 13, 2013 from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home; 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Ind. Funeral Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Fri. Dec.. 13, 2013 at the funeral home. A private burial will take place on Mon., Dec. 16, 2013, Rev. Ron Hensley will be officiating and Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana
