WINAMAC — Madelyn Marie Rausch, 85, Winamac, passed away at 12:23 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Ind.
She was born May 25, 1928, in Brainard, Ky., to Isom and Lula Allen Holbrook. She was married to Wilbert H. Rausch on Jan. 12, 1948, in Winamac, IN. He passed away June 28, 1970.
Madelyn was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Winamac.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors and caring for her animals. Madelyn loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a strong farm housewife. She saw so many changes during her long life.
Survivors include: Michael (Pamela) Rausch, Winamac, a son; Stephen (Barbara) Rausch, Winamac, a son; Paul Rausch, Winamac, a son; Theresa (Robert) Krohn, Sheridan, Ind., daughter; Patricia (Randel) Holliday, Winamac, daughter; Monica (David) DeSabatine, Winamac, daughter; Loretta “Lori” (Leon Morales) Rausch, Winamac, daughter; Elizabeth “Betty” (Larry) Allen, Winamac, daughter; 24 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; Cash Holbrook, Knox, brother; and Harold “Curly” Holbrook, North Judson, brother.
She was preceded in death by: Isom Holbrook, father; Lula Allen Holbrook, mother; Wilbert H. Rausch, husband;
William Rausch, son; 2 grandchildren; three sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. EST Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Winamac, IN. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. EST Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at Frain Mortuary.
Memorial Contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
