Lions on verge of title as NSC meet suspended

May 15, 2014

WALKERTON — Bremen is on the verge of a Northern State Conference boys track championship.
But it hasn’t happened yet.
The Lions lead New Prairie, 136-127, with one event remaining in the league meet at John Glenn High School.
Horrid weather conditions forced suspension of the pole vault Wednesday night. Vaulters will gather at 5 p.m. today to finish up.
While New Prairie’s girls have wrapped up an NSC title — there is nothing anybody can do to catch them — the outcome of the boys contest is still up in the air.
“I’m really proud of the way our guys have stepped up. They put us in this position,” said Bremen coach Mark Yoder.  “I’m not really surprised we’re here.”
