Lady Pilgrims overcome slow start in NLC win over Goshen

February 7, 2014

PLYMOUTH — It was a little rough in the beginning, but in the end Plymouth’s Lady Pilgrims walked away with a win over NLC foe Goshen 46-39.
The weather wasn’t the only thing that was cold as Plymouth’s shooting in the first half suffered a little more for the time off and Goshen took advantage with some solid play to lead much of the first 16 minutes. After senior Dylan Holiday hit a bucket on the opening possession of the game, Plymouth led just twice more before the break.
It was Plymouth however — on Hunter Stevens’ three-point play with just seconds on the clock — that took a slim one-point lead into half time.
“I felt like everything we do in practice we don’t always carry over into a game very well,” said Plymouth Head Coach Dave Duncan. “Monday and Tuesday we moved the ball well and took good shots in practice. Tonight we didn’t move the ball well and take good shots.”
