Lady Lions clinch NSC crown

The Bremen High School Lady Lion Softball team claimed a share of the 2013 NSC Title with New Prairie. In front, Coach Tabby Teal; seniors: Mikayla Gardner, Megan Stouder, Brooke Baker and Taylor Lashbrook; Coach Jenni Andrews Back, Coach Dean Huppert, Shelby Zellmer, Emily Molden, Rachael Czarnecki, Breann Wilson, Maci Moren, Lexi Pate, Brooke Fitch, Chelsea Huppert, Sabrina Gilley, Jess Gall and Coach Mike Huppert.

Bremen’s softball team plated six runs in the first three innings en route to a 9-3 victory over visiting Jimtown, and the Class 2A No. 5 Lady Lions wrapped up a share of the Northern State Conference championship in front of a home crowd in Bremen last Wednesday.
Megan Stouder and Shelby Zellmer recorded three hits each for the Lions, who recorded 14 hits to Jimtown’s eight. Zellmer finished a perfect 3-for-3 officially with three runs scored and an RBI, while Stouder scored two runs with two RBIs.
Chelsea Huppert surrendered three earned runs off eight hits with two strikeouts and three walks in a complete game inside the circle.
Bremen moves to 20-3 on the year with a 13-1 NSC finish. The Lions open Sectional 35 play against Central Noble at Westview Monday at 7 p.m.
