SOUTH BEND — Jacqueline S. Morrical, 57, residing in South Bend, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in her mother’s home in Plymouth, following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 11, 1956 in Bremen, to James Yates and Mary Jane (Koontz) Yates. She has lived in this area all of her life, having graduated from LaVille High School in 1977.
On Feb. 13, 1988 in Shiloh Wesleyan Church, Plymouth, Jackie was united in marriage to John E. Morrical who survives. Also surviving is her daughter, Stephanie Morrical (Keenan Jancovich) of South Bend; a son, Corey Landrum of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Rachel Jancovich, Dante Wright, Caeydon Landrum and Alatha Landrum, her mother, Mary Jane Faurotte (Dale Neidlinger) of Plymouth; and her mother-in-law, Waneta Morrical of South Bend. Jackie is also survived by two brothers, Jim (Nancy) Yates of Goshen; Jeff (Judy) Yates of Bremen; three nieces, Michelle (Andy) Hartman, Amanda (Jeremy) Price, and Melita (Mat) Green, along with two nephews, David and James Yates, and her godson, Lee Johnson of Vincennes. She was preceded in death by her father, James Yates, and father-in-law, Elvin Morrical.
Jackie was employed with McClure Oil Company, and most recently worked at the Sunoco Station located at Kern Road and U.S. 31 South in South Bend. She was formerly employed with the South Bend Community School Corp. at Forest G. Hay Elementary School for several years. She was an active member of Christ Chapel and sang in the choir. She was active with Women’s Aglow Fellowship, and enjoyed gardening and raising plants and flowers. She especially loved her morning glories.
Services celebrating the life of Jackie Morrical will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the funeral home.
