IU Health Starke Hospital to serve as warming station through Friday

Staff Writer

With temperatures reaching dangerously cold levels in the coming days, Indiana University Health Starke Hospital will serve as a warming station in the community through the end of the day Jan. 9. Warming station visitors are reminded to bring all of their necessities while using the warming center, including their required medications, money to purchase food or drinks at the hospital, or their own small snacks and beverages. Smoking is not permitted on hospital grounds (inside or outside), and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Visitors to the warming station can park in the hospital’s main parking lot, 102 E. Culver Road, Knox, and enter through the main entrance. Please ask the desk staff for the designated warming location within the hospital. It’s important to note that this is cold and flu season, and the hospital is under visitor restrictions to help colds and flu from spreading. For this reason, anyone visiting the warming center who has cold or flu-like symptoms is asked to please wear a mask provided in the entry lobby, and to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.
