Gentry held on $25,000 bond
On July 2, 2015, Officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department responded to a Burglary at the corner of 1000 E and 250 S in Starke County.
The victim stated that unknown suspects gained entry into a building and removed several items. The victim also stated that the suspect(s) hotwired the truck and removed it from the building. Once outside the suspect(s) got the truck stuck in the mud and were unable to go any further with it.
Detectives from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department and Knox Police Department were able to obtain DNA and fingerprints at the scene and submit them to the Indiana State Police Lab for testing. A positive identity was obtained through this testing and the following is the suspect in this case.
Shawn Gentry, age 26 of Knox, was identified through the testing and fingerprints that were obtained from the scene.
Shawn Gentry is currently being held at the Starke County Jail on a $25,000 Surety Bond for Preliminary charges of Burglary, Auto Theft, Criminal Mischief and Theft.
