Fly-in to be held in Bremen this weekend

Chuck Hamilton of Bremen and Lee Watkins of South Bend pose with their scale replicas of the British Spitfire. Both are expected to fly these models on Sunday at the Bremen Sky Knights model aircraft club fly-in. There is no charge and the public is welcome.

BREMEN — The Sky Knights – a Bremen based model aircraft club – will hold its annual fly-in on Sunday at the groups flying field just south of Bremen at 5593 Fir Road.
Gates for the event will open at 9 a.m. there is no charge and the public is invited to attend at any time during the day. The group would like to urge anyone planning to attend to bring a canned food item to donate to the Marshall County Food Bank.
There will be food available at the fly in featuring sweet corn, sausage and a drink available for $5.
A variety of large and small remote controlled gas and electric powered model aircraft will be exhibited and flown. A key attraction will be Chuck Hamilton of Bremen and Lee Watkins of South Bend simultaneously flying their scale replicas of the World War II British Spitfire, a key fighter aircraft used in the war over Europe.
Over 50 aircraft are expected to be on hand from clubs around the area. Modern, WW I and WWII scale aircraft will be flown and shown.
