Courtesy of InTerra Credit Union and the efforts of dedicated popcorners like Wayne Weldy (pictured) and Brad Cramer, more than 300 pounds of kettle corn were given out to attendees at the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival this year.
Cramer said he’s been popping the foodstuff for more than 18 years and that he uses local kernels from Shipshewana. He says the trick is simple: corn oil, corn and “free labor.”
