The Culver Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to accompany the open house scheduled at Rideon Bicycles, 115 E. Jefferson Street in Culver, this Saturday, March 28, says owner Joe Barnes, who took over the business earlier this year (see our article at http://thepilotnews.com/content/rideon-bicycles-culver-has-new-owner-loc...).

The ribbon cutting takes place at noon, with the open house taking place throughout regular Saturday business hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include a homemade pizza lunch for guests catered by Barnes' own 90-year-old mother. Specials on bicycles, accessories, and service will be offered throughout the day as well, and a ribbon cutting from Culver's Chamber of Commerce is also expected.

This will mark the first cycling season for the business at its new home, having moved last year from its prior location on Lake Shore Drive. Rideon is the only bicycle shop in Marshall, Starke, and Pulaski Counties, and sells, rents, and repairs/services bicycles.

Barnes says he'll also be kicking off a new, weekly bicycle ride for any interested participants every Thursday evening starting at 5:30 p.m. at the shop. The low-key, 60 to 90-minute rides will be around the Culver area and accessible for most any experience level of rider (bring your own bicycle or rent one from Rideon to participate). Rides will conclude at one of a rotating roster of Culver's local restaurants, for those who wish to stay for an after-ride bite.

Rideon may be reached by phone at 574-842-4788 and Barnes may be reached by email at rideculverbikes@gmail.com.
