March 26, 2014

STARKE — Starke County Treasurer Kasey Clark reported to the Starke County Commission March 3 that 87 properties, 79 percent of the total, were sold during the Feb. 27 tax sale. The sales totaled $44, 470, and included the five properties in Parkview purchased by the city.
The next tax deed sale will be April 8, when 48 properties owned by the county will be sold for 90 percent of their assessed value. Properties not sold at that time will be included in a tax lien sale May 21, when bidding will start at $35 per parcel.
The next regular tax sale will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 5.
