Council recognizes resident’s hard work

May 13, 2014

BREMEN — Bremen Town Council took a moment during the start of their meeting Monday to present the Pride-In-Bremen Award to Alex Baker for his efforts in making attractive improvements to his home and thus improving the look of the town. The award recognized his investment and accomplishments.
Among the other topics discussed at the meeting, public discussion brought up the topic of a canoe launch at Shadyside Park. Although it had been discussed with the previous parks director, current director Brian Main seemed unaware of the progress made during those discussions. He did, however seem very positive about the possible addition to the parks system.
A new air compressor has been purchased by the town for use by the town utility departments. A cost of $77,000 was divided amongst the utilities for the purchase of a smaller, more efficient product.
