Walk, Run, Roll
BREMEN — The Lake of the Woods Property Owners Association is sponsoring a Run, Walk, Roll beginning with check-in at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 29.
The event is rain or shine and costs $10 per participant or $7 per child under 10.
The price includes T-shirt, continental breakfast, accordion water bottle, and raffle ticket for a chance to win a tablet.
Check-in is at LOWPOA building on North Shore Drive at 8-8:25 a.m.
Continental breakfast will be served from 8-10:30. The event is from 8:30-10 a.m. and is self-timed.

LOWPOA to have flotilla
BREMEN — The Lake of the Woods Property Owners Association is sponsoring a flotilla on the lake at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 6.
The theme is “Let Freedom Ring.”
Decorate a boat and meet at the sand bar at 7 p.m. Stay after for a sand bar splash! The rain date is 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7.
Church having sports camp
BREMEN — The Community Gospel Church of Bremen will hold an “Off the Bench” summer sports camp this July.
The camp is for children ages 4-12 and takes place July 15-19 from 5 to 8:15 p.m. at the church.
Cost is $25 for the first 160 kids to register and $50 for the next 150 campers.
Children will be taught by Christian college athletes from around the country in their sport of choice. The week will be full of activities, Bible teaching and all-around fun. Visit cgccommunity.com/events to learn more.
CHB has patient advocate
BREMEN — Community Hospital of Bremen has a patient advocate on site bi-weekly to screen individuals or their family members for potential eligibility for healthcare insurance coverage.
The advocate will be taking appointments on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
This service is free and open to the public.

BREMEN — First Baptist Church in Bremen runs a van every Sunday morning and would love to pick you up. Please call 546-3706 if you would like a ride.
Charity golf match
BREMEN — The third annual Bremen Gridiron golf scramble is Saturday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. It is $60 per person and includes golf and lunch.
Hole sponsorship is $30 per hole.
Proceeds go to Bremen High School football.

4-H Fair fundraiser
ARGOS — Marshall County 4-H Fair Board is having a Nelson’s Port-A-Pit chicken fundraiser 4-7 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Marshall County 4-H Fair Grounds in Argos.
Chicken $6/half; potatoes $3.50.
Bremen junior football
BREMEN — Bremen Junior Football signups and equipment hand out is Aug. 3 at 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sunny Side Park. A parent or guardian signature required.
The cost is $25 for first-third grade flag football and $40 for fourth-sixth grade full contact.
Bremen Junior Football Coaches Clinic will be held by the Bremen High School coaches on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 5:30 p.m. at Bunge Field.
The conditioning and fundamental clinic for first through sixth grades is Aug. 5 and 6.
There are no practices Aug. 8, 12 or 13. Team practices begin Aug. 15.
First through third-grade practices are Monday and Thursday from 5:30–7 p.m.
Fourth through sixth-grade practices are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30–7 p.m.
Some teams may practice on Saturdays prior to season start.

Thrift shop open Wednesdays
BREMEN — The Center Thrift Shop is now open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
The Center Thrift Shop is located on the third floor of The First United Church of Christ, at the corner of Center and Sherman streets. The shop accepts clean, quality clothing of all sizes on Wednesdays when the shop is open. Proceeds go to support missions of the church and community.

BREMEN — Join Bremen Missionary Church every Wednesday night this summer for Summer J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) and games, music, stories, crafts, snacks and more.
VBS at Church of God
BREMEN — The Bremen Church of God will be holding VBS June 23 through June 25, ending with an overnighter at the church.
“Soarin’ with Jesus” will involve lessons and activities, worship, games and snacks. 
An offering will be taken for missionaries to Bulgaria.  All children are welcome to come each night from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the over-nighter ending with a pancake breakfast, at 8:30 a.m. on June 26.  If you have questions, call Pastor Jaree at 574-850-1421.
Historic Bremen Chat
BREMEN — Historic Bremen Chat will present a program on the United Pentecostal Church of Acts 4:12 with Pastor John Bollinger speaking, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20.
It will be at the Senior Building, 103 W. Plymouth St., Bremen.

VBC ‘world tour’ is June
BREMEN — Join St. John United Church of Christ in Woodland this summer as it goes around the world to visit exciting places and learn about God’s love for us.
Six exciting world places will be visited with crafts, songs, games and friends.  Be sure to check-in at 6:30 p.m. and plan to head home each night at 8 p.m. June 18-20.

Library to host canvas painting
BREMEN — Adults and teens: get your creative juices flowing at the Bremen Public Library this summer!
The library is offering a “Pop & Paint” canvas-painting event from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 21.
Artistic instructor Lynette Miller will guide participants in creating a summer-themed canvas that they will take home that night.
All materials will be provided.
Enjoy fellowship with other library patrons while snacking on pop and popcorn in keeping with the library’s summer theme of “Pop Open a Good Book.”
Pop & Paint is open to German Township residents age 14 and older.
A $10 program fee for materials is due at time of registration.
There are limited spots available and the last day to register is Friday, June 14. If spots fill up, interested patrons may be put on a waiting list in the event of a cancellation.

Part of U.S. 6 REMAINS CLOSED
LAPAZ — U.S. 6 between U.S. 31 and Lilac Road will remain closed through early September.
The closure is necessary to ensure driver safety while crews work on the U.S. 31/U.S. 6 interchange for the new U.S. 31 project, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
A detour will take eastbound traffic south on U.S. 31, east on U.S. 30, north on S.R. 331, and back to U.S. 6.
Westbound traffic will travel south on S.R. 331, west on U.S. 30, north on U.S. 31, and back to U.S. 6.
CHB holding blood drive
BREMEN — The Community Hospital of Bremen is sponsoring a blood drive through the South Bend Medical Foundation 9 a.m.-noon Monday, June 24.

fair board sees flower sponsors
ARGOS — The Marshall County 4-H fair board is seeking sponsorship for flower barrels to be displayed at the 4-H fair.
The cost to sponsor a barrel is $100 and can be renewed annually.
The fair board has bought new barrels and a sponsorship will be displayed on the barrel showing the sponsor’s support of the Marshall County 4-H program.
The flowers will be planted by Felke’s Florist and housed at the greenhouse until just prior to the fair.

Chamber night at the Cove
BREMEN — Bremen Chamber Night at the Cove is 7:05 p.m. Saturday, July 27.
The South Bend Silver Hawks play the West Michigan Whitecaps.
Tickets are $9 for a game ticket, program, Silver Hawks hat (for every member of your group), company name listed in game program and scoreboard recognition.
