The Marshall County Museum will continue its annual Brown Bag Lunch Series starting today. The fourth installment of the series, which runs from March to October, will feature a speaker each month who has knowledge on a specific historical topic relating to Marshall County. Each event will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
“We ask people to bring a sack lunch to the museum and they can enjoy a historical program over their lunch hour,” said Mindy Langdon, community relations specialist for the Marshall County Museum. “We have about 60 to 75 people that come [every year].”
Sister Mary Jo Shingler is the first speaker in the series. She will discuss the topic of The Poor Handmaids. The subsequent speakers are Kurt Garner, Sister Roberta Christianson, Jenny Harness, Coni Dubois, Tom Buchanan and Bruce Johnson.
“We’re trying to make the museum a center in Marshall County for people to meet, enjoy community and celebrate what brings us together” said Langdon in reference to the Brown Bag Series.
