BREMEN
A few showers weren’t going to deter 91-year-old David Hathaway of Lakeville from attending the annual Bremen Memorial Day parade on Monday.
“It’s good,” said Hathaway, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. “This is the first I’ve been over to it.”
About 20-30 veterans were involved in the parade, either walking or riding in vehicles, said Jessica Flores, with Bremen Community Cares. It’s the second year Bremen Community Cares has organized the annual Memorial Day parade.
"I was really happy," Flores said. "I thought the crowd was good and everything moved smoothly. Despite a few rain showers, it wasn't a total washout."
