Bremen’s Atkins signs with Bethel basketball

May 2, 2014

BREMEN — Bremen senior Joey Atkins has signed a letter of intent to attend Bethel College, where he will continue his basketball career.
During his senior season at Bremen High School, Atkins was named captain and Most Valuable Player while leading the Lions in points, assists and 3-point percentage.
“I’m extremely thankful for the impact Joey has had on our basketball program,” said Bremen head basketball coach Ryan Eakins. “He has developed a high skill level due to his work ethic in the gym and weight room, which has set a precedent for the younger Bremen players in the years to come. I’m sure he’ll apply that same mentality at Bethel College on and off the court and become a champion of character in whatever he chooses to pursue. I look forward to hearing of his future success.
Atkins was selected to the Northern State All Conference first team and named All-State Honorable Mention by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association during his senior year.
