Boys swim teams dive into sectionals today

February 14, 2013

The IHSAA’s 76th Annual Boys State Swimming Tournament will kick off tonight at 20 sectional sites around the state.
Culver Military Academy and Plymouth will be among a 13-team field at the Warsaw Sectional preliminaries, while Bremen travels to compete in the 10-team field at Penn. Both meets are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
Swimmers will be vying for one of eight spots out to the finals or one of the next eight berths out to the consolation round Saturday at 1 p.m. Diving prelims are also slated for Saturday at 9 a.m.
Culver Military is looking to dethrone host Warsaw after the Tigers handed them a 445-427 defeat at last year’s meet.
Plymouth placed sixth with a score of 194, while Bremen also finished sixth at its sectional with a 170 team score against a stacked field at South Bend Riley before the sectional site moved this year.
