Bond process cleared for LaVille schools

August 29, 2014

LAPAZ/LAKEVILLE — The Union North United School Corporation board of trustees approved the resolution confirming the amendment to lease and approving the first mortgage bonds for the 2014-2015 year.

The money is to be used for necessary construction projects at the schools. Among the projects is the plan to redo the parking lot in the jr.-sr. high school area, beautification of the buildings, and the finishing of the roofing project.

The roof was not finished because the funds were allocated to help replace the server that was damaged during the July storm that rolled through the area.

Superintendent Mitchell Mawhorter stated that eventually, a thoroughfare will be constructed at the elementary school for the buses to pull around to, making it safer and easier to drop school kids off.
