May 15, 2014

PLYMOUTH — The top community college golfers from across the United States will be coming to Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth next week for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men’s Division II Golf Championship.
Over 140 of the nation’s best junior college golfers from a total of 43 teams will be competing in the event. Practice rounds start on Sunday, May 18 and continue through Monday. Round one action begins on Tuesday, May 20 at 7 a.m. and will conclude on Friday with round four.
Ancilla College athletic director, Gene Reese, commented on the importance of this event for Ancilla and the community. “What tremendous national exposure for Ancilla College. It is a great honor and opportunity to host a national junior college tournament,” he said. “Plus we have an ideal venue with Swan Lake. We are excited for May 20th to arrive. This is huge. The best junior college golfers from all over the United States will be at Swan Lake next week. Perhaps we will see a future PGA player like Bubba Watson. If you love golf, I recommend that you to take the time and watch this tournament.”
